The Teutonic Knights began about during the siege of Acre, 1189-1191, received its final and complete organization as one of the great military religious orders of Europe. While, therefore, the three great orders had much in common, there was this difference in their original foundation. The Hospitalers were at first a nursing order, and gradually became military; the Knights Templars were always purely and solely military; while the Teutonic Knights were from the first both military and nursing. joined by many of their wealthier countrymen who had come to fight for the Holy Land.

Burg Malbork: The Main Castle of the Teutonic Knights was in Marienburg, East Prussia, Germany. After WWW 2, the castle was awarded to Poland, and remains there to visit.
