Results for Castle Survey #1
Here are the results for our castle survey number one, second tally, as of the first day of July 2003.
There were total of 922 persons who responded to our survey #1, as of even date. This includes 715 responses since the previous tally of 207.
And to those of you that did, we want to take this opportunity to again thank everyone for their input.
Proposed use of castle:
- Primary residence: 609

Preferred type of castle:
- Burg: 542
- Schloss: 92
- Festung(Fortress): 54
- Norman: 24
- Other: 3
Purchase price of castle:
- Under One Million Dollars(US): 384
- Under Two Million Dollars(US): 285
- Over Two Million Dollars(US): 46
Preferred location of castle:
- United States: 411
- Canada: 54
- Germany: 108
- Austria: 68
- Switzerland: 48
- Other European countries: 16
- Other Areas: 10
Interesting to note:
- Three additional respondents are planning to or are building their own castle. This makes a total of five
respondent since we began this series of surveys.
- Eight other respondents indicated that they would like to build a castle or have a castle built for them.
But, have no plans to do so at this time.
- Some of the additional countries in Europe where respondents wished to have a castle, were Spain(3), Serbia(1),
France(6), Romania(2), Italy(3), and Denmark(1).
- Some of the more interesting locations where respondents wished to have a castle, were Argentina, Bolivia, Japan,
and several unspecified South Pacific islands.
